Have you ever seen a green&white bicycle in Seoul? This is an unmanned public bike rental service called Seoul-bike or Dda-reung-i(따릉이). Since 2015, Seoul city government has supported this rental bike policy to citizens at low prices. Of course, tourists as well as Koreans can easily rent this bike.

They are operated mainly nearby city facilities such as subway entrances, residential complexes, government offices, schools, etc. Users of Seoul-bike can rent and return bikes wherever a rental stop exists, regardless of the location.

If you want to use this Seoul-bike, search for ‘따릉이’ or ‘Seoul bike’ in the App Store/Play Store. Just open the app and you’ll see how to rent a bike. This application also provides location of adjacent stops, way of payment, and other essential information.

It supports 4 languages-Korean, Chinese, Japanese and English, so you don’t need to use google translation. It has 4 kinds of voucher for tourists-One hour voucher, Two hours voucher, Day voucher. Prices are 1000 won, 2000 won, and 5000 won respectively, and an additional 200 won is charged every exceeded 5 minutes from the original time. Payments are made through the application. Only credit card is required for payment while cash is impossible.
